Catering Assistant

Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at St Mary's High School.
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages to our students. As a Catering Assistant, you will work as part of a team to provide high-quality, healthy meals that meet the needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages
- Clean all equipment and catering areas
What We Are Looking For:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
- Good customer care skills
- Previous catering and food preparation experience would be desirable
Working Hours/Days:
Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week, term time only.
Scope of Work:
Role holders will undertake a number of routine procedures and use associated tools and equipment. Some personal initiative may be required.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Observes personal duty of care in relation to service users or equipment or resources used in the course of work.
- Role holders may be required to make minor decisions by selecting from a choice of options or by identifying straightforward solutions to simple problems.
- Role holders may be required to determine the sequence and timing of own job or that of others.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Little, or no, prior experience is required. Role holders will need to gain an understanding of a limited number of routine procedures that could be gained through a short induction period or on the job training or instruction.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Role holders will either need previous relevant experience or specific training in the job tasks.
Performance Indicators:
- Completion of tasks to required standards and deadlines.
