About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiac nurse to take on a senior role and lead our cardiac team. You will be responsible for supporting and leading our experienced cardiac team to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care. Every day is different in this role, and you will work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, cardiac outpatients, theatres, and supporting the wards with cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead the cardiac team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, cardiac outpatients, theatres, and supporting the wards with cardiac patients
  • Support the Cardiology consultants in clinics
  • Utilize inter-departmental communication skills to support cardiology patients throughout the Spire Healthcare journey
  • Undertake clinical procedures that require dexterity and accuracy, including scrubbing for complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with implantation of IABP, TAVI, and complex devices
  • Support the non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department
  • Provide cardiology support to ward and critical care patients
  • Prepare operating Hybrid theatre/anaesthetic room/outpatient cardiology suite for procedures
  • Run a cardiology list without supervision and supervise/mentor junior staff
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced cardiac nurse with a strong background in cardiology, ideally with previous senior experience. You will need to be a current NMC registered nurse with no restrictions on practice, have at least 3 years' experience within a cardiac catheter lab, and be ALS trained. You will also need to be capable and confident, with excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to work and working patterns.
