Our mission is to empower students at Goldsmiths to thrive academically and socially, fostering their engagement with university life and promoting their overall success.

Role Responsibilities

As a key member of Accommodation Services, the Campus Support Officers are dedicated to ensuring that every student receives the necessary support, information, and guidance to fully participate in their academic journey and community life.

The Campus Support Officers (CSOs) fulfill an essential function within the department, contributing significantly to the daily operations and frontline services. They provide essential out-of-hours pastoral care and offer informed, precise advice on a range of issues to residents in student housing and all students at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Actively engaging with the student body, they provide support and direction through various online platforms and in-person interactions. They are responsible for scheduling appointments and facilitating drop-in sessions, serving as the primary contact for out-of-hours inquiries from residents and students, as well as other key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

In the role of Campus Support Officer, you will be instrumental in enriching the student experience at Goldsmiths.

This position entails a dynamic workload that varies throughout the academic year, necessitating strong organizational skills, creativity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and student satisfaction.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess experience in providing structured support and accurate information, with the capability to manage crises and address complex situations, escalating issues to management or referring to other services as needed. A strong emphasis on accurate record-keeping and proficient use of IT systems is essential, along with a dedication to professionalism and an understanding of the diverse needs of our international student and local community.

Work Schedule

This position requires weekend support, with two shifts from 6am to 6pm every Saturday and Sunday. The remaining hours may be organized into one 12-hour shift or split into two shifts during the week, typically in the afternoon or evening (e.g., 6pm to 6am).

Working hours will include periods during College closures and bank holidays, with equivalent time off in lieu provided. Due to the nature of the role, an on-campus presence is required during service hours for each shift.
