Quantity Surveyor (Main Contractor) | Permanent | Surrey

A leading Main Contractor with a strong reputation in the industry is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.

The company has a diverse portfolio of projects across various sectors, including residential, education, healthcare, conservation, leisure, and commercial, with a focus on new build and refurbishment projects up to £15m.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, working closely with the commercial team to manage budgets, timelines, and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project delivery
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts, tenders, and other commercial documents
  • Providing expert advice on commercial matters, including pricing, risk management, and dispute resolution
  • Collaborating with the commercial team to develop and implement commercial strategies

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as quantity surveying, construction management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working for a reputable Main Contractor, with a strong track record of delivering commercial projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex commercial data and make informed decisions
  • A full UK driving license and ability to commute to Coulsdon, Surrey
