About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with cost management for assigned developments from land procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Commercial department with cost management for assigned developments.
  • Collaborate with the Site Management team to ensure accurate measurement and cost plan input for new land bids.
  • Process invoices and applications for payments in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, and aged debt.
  • Attend departmental and project meetings as required.
  • Deal with queries and requisitions from site managers.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other departments.
  • Issue Payment Withhold Notices, where a contractor application or part thereof is in dispute in accordance with the Construction Act.
Requirements
  • ONC/HNC in Construction or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations.
  • Strong mathematical and IT ability.
  • Good understanding of standard measurement rules.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to assess and analyze information.
  • Good business sense.
  • Good understanding of budget management.
  • Negotiating and networking skills.
  • COINS systems management knowledge.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and accept criticism of work.
  • Good team working skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
  • Accurate with an eye for detail.
Desirable
  • HND or Degree in Construction.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Building or working towards full membership.
  • At least 12 months experience working within a residential house builder.
