Logistics Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the logistics operations of Neogen's third-party logistics providers. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods and optimal supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers, negotiating contracts and service-level agreements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics partners and vendors, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Manage warehouse operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, overseeing inventory levels and maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Develop and manage the logistics budget, aiming to reduce costs while maintaining service quality, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost-reduction strategies.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing efficient logistics services, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues related to logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, identifying potential risks in the supply chain and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop logistics and supply chain teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making, maintaining accurate documentation related to logistics operations and contracts.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Professional Certifications in supply chain management are beneficial.
  • Significant prior experience in managing third-party logistics for a multi-national organisation is essential.
