Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst in Training to join our team at Pepco Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, expenses, and business banking.
  • Reconciliations: Prepare regular reconciliations for balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate records are kept.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the production of monthly management accounts, including actual vs. budget/forecast analysis for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Financial Reporting: Use FCCS (Group reporting consolidation tool) to ensure that monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts are accurately included within the Group reporting tool.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare Corporate VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
  • Financial Controls: Prepare key finance controls that impact the Corporate office entity on a monthly basis.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Work closely with Group treasury to ensure correct recording of intercompany loans, external loans, and derivatives within the Corporate Office entities.
  • Group Reporting: Prepare group reporting for Corporate Office entity and other small Group entities, including additional disclosure information.
  • Statutory Audit: Support the annual statutory audit deliverables for the Corporate office entities and other small entities.
  • Cash Forecasting: Prepare weekly cash forecast and actual submissions to Group treasury.
  • Cost Management: Support the management of Corporate departmental costs by providing cost reports to ensure accurate and timely information in reviewing Corporate office budget performance.
  • Financial Presentations: Support the Senior Finance Manager in presenting annual Corporate Centre Budgets to Group CEO/CFO and provision of support to Finance Leadership Team for their functional budgets and forecasts.
  • IFRS 16 Implementation: Support on the IFRS 16 implementation for Corporate Office to ensure that lease agreements are included appropriately.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Recently Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or a candidate who is currently completing their qualification.
  • Experience: Experience working within a finance or auditing team.
  • Financial Systems: Experience working with financial systems (preferably Oracle Fusion).
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting and ability to work with financial systems (preferably Oracle Fusion).
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Understanding how financial statements are prepared.
