Children's Residential Care Team Leader

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Residential Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day management of a shift, providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting the children they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager by leading the day-to-day management of a shift.
- Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting the children they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Lead the team in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex needs.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each child.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide feedback and coaching to staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and carers to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's care.
- Ensure that all children receive a high level of care and support, and that their needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor and report any concerns or issues related to the care and well-being of children.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure that the service is providing high-quality care and support.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in childcare or social work.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential care setting.
- Experience of working with children with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
