- The Graduate Program Support Coordinator is responsible for managing tailored services designed to assist scholars in their preparation for graduate and professional education, providing individualized support throughout the process. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including staff, faculty, and students, to ensure the program's objectives are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and management of operational tasks related to the program.
- Facilitate one-on-one support for students, helping them navigate academic and professional pathways.
- Engage in the development and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing student success.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and create tailored academic plans.
- Gather and analyze data to monitor program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Maintain a caseload of participants, ensuring they receive documented support services.
- Develop evaluation tools for data collection and academic service improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student development, counseling, social work, or a STEM-related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in providing academic, career, and financial guidance to underrepresented college students.
- Proven track record in organizing mentoring and tutorial programs.
- Familiarity with educational advising methods and learning styles.
- Ability to monitor participant retention and graduation rates.
- Understanding of graduate school admission processes and available resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education teaching or involvement with federal TRIO programs.
- Strong student coaching skills, including goal setting and advocacy.
- Awareness of challenges faced by underrepresented college students in higher education.
