Job Overview

Places for People, a leading social enterprise, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Developments team in Scotland. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our large-scale developments, including the Chapelton and Tornagrain projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and control development costs across the full scope of project activities, from tender enquiries to final cost reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, construction, and development colleagues to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, finance, and sales teams.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, risk and opportunity reviews, and CVR meetings with senior management.
Requirements
  • Several years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably in housebuilding.
  • Strong commercial grounding, including tendering, post-contract, and cost report preparation.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing and interaction of trades in the build process.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit management team and manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
