As a Garden Care Assistant, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the daily upkeep of the gardens while maintaining exceptional presentation standards. This position encompasses a variety of hands-on tasks aimed at enhancing, nurturing, and managing the garden, as well as contributing to various projects. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Gardener. The Gardens team consists of two Garden Care Assistants who work alongside three Gardeners, each overseeing one of three designated areas: Borders, Lawns and Estates, and Kitchen Garden and Nursery.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks may include assisting with the planting and maintenance of shrubs and borders, mulching, hedge trimming, and lawn mowing. You will work closely with gardeners and a team of volunteers, engaging with the public daily by answering a variety of garden-related inquiries and sharing your work with enthusiasm. We seek individuals who possess a practical approach to their duties, demonstrating a commitment to completing daily tasks while having a genuine interest in horticulture. The role can be physically demanding, and familiarity with a range of machinery and equipment is essential; however, training will be provided for the use of tools such as tractors, hedge trimmers, and pedestrian mowers.
