As a Garden Maintenance Assistant, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the daily upkeep of the gardens while maintaining exceptional presentation standards. This position encompasses a variety of hands-on tasks aimed at enhancing, nurturing, and managing the garden, as well as contributing to project implementations. Work Environment

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Gardener. The Gardens team consists of two Garden Maintenance Assistants who work alongside three Gardeners, each responsible for one of three designated areas: Borders, Lawns and Estates, and Kitchen Garden and Nursery.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks may include assisting with the planting and maintenance of shrubs and borders, mulching, hedge trimming, and lawn care. You will work closely with gardeners and a team of volunteers, engaging with the public daily by answering various garden-related inquiries and sharing your pride in the work being done. We seek individuals who approach their work practically, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently, and who possess a genuine interest in horticulture. The role can be physically demanding, and you will utilize a variety of machinery and equipment to accomplish your tasks. Familiarity with machinery such as tractors, hedge trimmers, and pedestrian mowers is essential; however, training will be provided.
