Job Summary:
Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based in Hertfordshire and will work full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- To conduct thorough assessments of children in need, adhering to the Assessment Framework and Working Together guidelines, and ensure timely and robust care planning for children looked after.
- To maintain consistently high standards of practice, prioritizing the needs of children in all activities.
- To ensure all children under the post holder's responsibility have a clear care plan in place to promote their development, well-being, and protection from harm.
- To perform other duties as defined by the Director of Children Services.
- To accurately update the Service's database with children and families' details and status.
- To ensure the Service's risk management procedures for significant harm to children are followed at all times, and to seek appropriate advice and authorization from managers.
- To conduct care proceedings on behalf of the Service, with guidance and authorization, and to prepare high-quality reports and statements for court, case conferences, and looked after reviews, meeting deadlines and involving children, families, and carers.
- To represent children, young people, families, carers, groups, individuals, and partner agencies to access services.
- To advise children, young people, families, carers, groups, and individuals about independent advocacy that can best meet their needs.
- To play a leading role in improving practice and quality of assessments and care planning within the Team, via mentoring assigned social work staff, leading team meeting discussions and workshops, taking responsibility for updating the Team on practice developments and research findings, and the induction of new staff.
Requirements:
- Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
- Experience of community and/or group work.
- Knowledge of children's health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
