Global Technical & Quality Director Opportunity

Dovetail Recruitment Ltd is working closely with a leading FMCG company to recruit a new Global Technical & Quality Director. This role is a key position in the organization, responsible for creating a strong business unit across the globe.

The successful candidate will have a people-focused mentality and be able to create a positive team environment. They will be responsible for forming technical innovation, manufacturing compliance, human rights due diligence, and sustainability strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain technical guidelines, policies & standards
  2. Technical team leadership and mentoring
  3. Contribute to business strategy and operating plans
  4. Full budget ownership
  5. Technical team resource, skills & development, and succession plans
  6. Manage technical aspects of supplier relationships in line with Solent policies & strategies
  7. Support development of sustainable, competent supplier base to deliver required technical & innovation standards
  8. Joint delivery of product development innovation at a strategic level

Requirements:

  • Strong people management skills – able to foster a positive team environment and get teams to collaborate as one
  • Experience at the technical or compliance level within an FMCG manufacturing business
  • Experience in a customer-facing role working with high street retailers
  • Experience in technical development of both non-food and food consumer goods
  • Experience working globally, understanding different cultures and attitudes
  • Experience working with manufacturing partners and teams in Asia, notably China & Vietnam
  • Awareness of legislation governing the sale of personal care, household goods, and food products
