As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Lecturer in Vision Sciences to join our esteemed Department of Vision Sciences, part of the School of Health & Life Sciences. Our department is recognized for its commitment to excellence in teaching, applied research, and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in Vision Sciences.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of existing academic modules.
- Supervise students and enhance their educational experience across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Engage in scholarly activities that support the department's reputation and delivery of Vision Sciences.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, including e-learning and online environments.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a BSc (Hons) in Optometry or Orthoptics or an equivalent qualification. Registration with the GOC as an Optometrist or HCPC as an Orthoptist, or a PhD in Vision Sciences or a related field, is required.
Desirable Skills
We seek candidates with:
- Experience in supporting student learning in Vision Sciences.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE.
