The Family Law Division is seeking to appoint a seasoned Family Law Advisor, preferably with an established client base. Candidates should possess the ability to operate autonomously to enhance the family department's offerings while also collaborating effectively within a team. This role will encompass certain business development duties, including participation in networking functions, engaging with local professionals, and identifying new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will manage a variety of privately funded divorce, financial, and child-related cases. This dynamic and diverse position will require proficiency in a Case Management System, making strong IT skills essential. We are looking for an individual with meticulous attention to detail who thrives in a demanding commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient management of all Family Law files (both physical and digital).
  • Ensuring timely progression of client matters while keeping clients informed about realistic outcomes, progress, and associated costs.
  • Representation in Court, mediations, and meetings, along with the preparation of comprehensive notes and minutes as necessary.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Meeting established billing and time recording targets annually.
  • Overseeing the billing process and liaising with the Finance department.
  • Drafting legal documents, including correspondence and Court submissions.
  • Providing assistance to team members as needed.
  • Contributing to operational reviews and initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Understanding and supporting the team's objectives while promoting the firm's core values.
  • Actively engaging in marketing efforts and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5-10 years of post-qualification experience is essential.
  • Proven experience in handling a range of privately funded divorce, financial, and child-related matters, including representation of high-net-worth clients.
  • Commercial awareness is crucial.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT proficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently, demonstrating initiative.
  • Confidence in business development and securing new clients.

  • Familiarity with SOS case management systems.
