Infrastructure Engineer - Financial Services

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at a leading financial services organisation. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure, systems, and services that support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server 2016+ environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot Active Directory, including Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS services.
  • Configure and deploy Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) and manage access and identity using Azure Entra.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM), endpoint protection, and policy enforcement.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues, including root cause analysis and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other members of the IT team to diagnose and resolve issues relating to the performance and availability of systems.
  • Automate processes and optimise infrastructure performance using scripts and tools as necessary.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new systems, tools, and technologies to meet business needs.
  • Proactively monitor systems and identify potential issues that can be mitigated before they become problems, as well as opportunities to improve performance.
  • Assist in the triage and response to support requests, providing high quality support and guidance to end users.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience of Microsoft Windows Server 2016+, including Active Directory, group policy, DHCP, DNS.
  • Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure Entra and Azure Virtual Machine deployment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
  • Microsoft365 configuration and administration.
  • Understanding of backup principles and solutions, ideally Microsoft Azure Recovery Services.
  • Good knowledge of standard support processes, including ticketing, SLAs and asset management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
