Job Title: Respiratory Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team in Pembrokeshire. As a key member of our community healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients in their own homes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, with experience in managing patients with chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, ILD, and bronchiectasis. You will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.

As a Respiratory Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of respiratory procedures and protocols within your sphere of responsibility.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse Part 1 NMC register
  • Holder of a degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
  • Recognised advanced level respiratory course to Masters level or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge in the field of respiratory care and demonstrable practice, including COPD, ILD, Bronchiectasis and home oxygen therapy
  • Sound knowledge of the legislative and policy framework underpinning the delivery of an integrated community model e.g. The All Wales Community Nursing Strategy, appropriate National Service Frameworks and NICE Guidelines
  • ARTP accredited Spirometry certificate
  • Involvement in change management
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate for research
  • Published work
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Teaching qualification
Experience
  • Relevant post registration experience including experience in respiratory care
  • Experience within the Primary/Community setting at Band 6
  • Evidence of implementing innovation/change within clinical practice
  • Experience of undertaking audits, writing reports and presenting to groups of health and social care professionals
  • Evidence of leading a team
Language Skills
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
