Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Speech and Language Therapist specializing in early childhood communication challenges, particularly in the area of speech sound disorders. This role is pivotal in enhancing the capabilities of our early years team.
The successful candidate will offer expert advice and mentorship to fellow Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) within the organization, focusing on the clinical domain of Early Years and speech sound disorders. This position also involves providing second opinions and fostering professional development among staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced Speech and Language Therapy services to a diverse caseload of young children facing various communication challenges, including thorough assessments, accurate diagnoses, and the formulation and execution of tailored intervention strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including educational professionals and other healthcare providers, to enhance the planning and delivery of intervention programs and training in the specialized clinical area.
- Provide clinical leadership in addressing speech sound disorders in early childhood (ages 0-6), offering specialized training, mentorship, and promoting the enhancement of clinical skills within this field.
- Supervise and guide junior staff and students, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Develop, implement, and assess projects for the Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service, contributing to multidisciplinary initiatives as necessary.
- Assume delegated line management responsibilities for a small team of junior SLTs and assistants, addressing any concerns with the Lead SLT as needed.

- Evidence of specialized postgraduate continuing professional development relevant to Early Years and speech sound disorders

Experience Requirements
