Job Summary

The Christie NHS FT is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Clinical Research Nurse to join our Haematology Research Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the management of a team of clinical research nurses and the coordination of clinical trials from set up to archiving.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and management of a group of haematology clinical research nurses, ensuring research is conducted within the requirements of a multiregulated clinical research environment.
  • Coordination of clinical trials, including feasibility and risk assessments, obtaining NHS permissions, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and ICH/GCP.
  • Development and implementation of specialist care pathways, and maintenance of professional knowledge and practice through attending mandatory and specialist training.
  • Staff management and development, including induction, supervision, and appraisal of research team members.
  • Dissemination of information through presentations at local, national, and international conferences.

We are based in Manchester and serve a population of millions across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist, around 15% of patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
  • First Degree or relevant experience.
  • GCP/ICH recognised recent training.
  • Relevant oncology nursing experience and clinical research experience at Band 6 or other relevant experience related to specialism.
  • Proven evidence of service improvement and ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
