About the Opportunity

We are in search of a seasoned and strategic Head of Finance to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will be accountable for managing all financial functions, offering strategic financial insights, and ensuring the company's enduring financial stability. This position requires a proactive leader eager to engage deeply and excited to play a vital role in a rapidly expanding scale-up organization. This role may be available on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO and executive team based on financial assessments and forecasts.

2. Financial Management:

  • Supervise all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Ensure precise and timely financial reporting in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee cash flow, treasury functions, and capital distribution to maximize financial performance.

3. Business Development and Growth:

  • Assist in fundraising initiatives, investor relations, and communications.
  • Engage in strategic planning and manage key partnerships to meet company objectives.
  • Participate in business development efforts to drive growth and enhance market presence.

4. Operational Excellence:

  • Optimize financial processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency.
  • Manage financial systems and software to ensure operational accuracy and effectiveness.

About You

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior financial leadership role within a start-up, scale-up, or high-growth environment.
  • Strong proficiency in financial management software, including Xero and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the med-tech or healthcare industry.
  • Experience with grants and equity financing.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial leadership roles.
  • Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and strategic planning.
