Job Title: Associate Professor in Construction Management

Widener University is seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor in Construction Management to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the undergraduate program, developing and implementing a program strategic plan, and overseeing student learning outcome assessment.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in construction management, including planning, budgeting, coordinating, and administration.
  • Develop and implement a program strategic plan that aligns with Widener University's plan.
  • Oversee student learning outcome assessment process in accordance with Widener University's assessment plan.
  • Manage review of student performance, retention, and probationary process.
  • Develop and implement a program budget and manage personnel and faculty resources.
  • Participate in team and/or interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Maintain regular office hours and be available to students.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of experience in construction management.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in key areas of construction management.
  • A record of teaching effectiveness in construction management.
  • Previous administrative experience in personnel management, evaluation, program budgeting, and program planning and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Published scholarly work in peer-reviewed technical journals.
  • Demonstrate scholarly inquiry and awareness of current professional trends.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Commitment to an open-door policy of communication and interaction with all constituents.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Hours:
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required for events.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods.
  • Ability to conduct business on the phone and answer in a timely manner.
