About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Flood Risk and Resilience Sector Lead to join our team at BMT Group. As a Senior Principal Consultant, you will play a key role in providing technical leadership and expertise in flood risk management and resilience services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regional subject matter expertise for river hydraulics and river hydrology, flood risk assessment methods, and river water quality.
- Deliver flood risk and resilience projects to schedule and budget, meeting client and corporate expectations.
- Mentor and lead a team of staff in the Flood Risk and Resilience capability.
- Identify emerging trends and ensure the team has suitably qualified and experienced personnel to serve these needs.
- Instigate and maintain oversight of innovation projects relevant to the flood risk and resilience capability.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject such as Engineering Science, Geography, Environmental Science/Management, or other relevant area of study.
- At least 10 years' experience in river hydraulics and river hydrology, flood risk assessment methods, river water quality, and the preparation and adoption of business cases for investment in flood defence.
- Deep understanding of river hydraulics and river hydrology, flood risk assessment methods, river water quality, and the preparation and adoption of business cases for investment in flood defence.
- Detailed knowledge of flood and coastal defence management policy and assessment methods in all parts of the UK.
- Strong capability in writing compelling technical proposals that manage risks to BMT and are supported by appropriate fee estimates.
- Ability to develop innovation ideas related to flood risk and resilience and work with others to bring them to the point of commercialisation.
