Main Responsibilities:

Galaxy Personnel is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their workshop team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Duties:
  1. Support and encourage Health and Safety practices within the workshop.
  2. Ensure all electrical equipment and systems are operating safely and efficiently.
  3. Carry out routine safety system checks and record the results.
  4. Manage and oversee the testing of electrical products and systems.
  5. Implement new electrical equipment and ensure it is properly serviced.
  6. Liaise with external service providers to ensure equipment is serviced and maintained.
  7. Log and record all maintenance and repairs.
  8. Provide a portfolio of critical spares and ensure stores stock levels are sufficient.
  9. Support Senior Setters in routine maintenance tasks.
  10. Ensure Senior Setters are competent in changeovers.
  11. Assist in organising and maintaining full Engineering cover.
  12. Be commercially aware of Health and Safety standards and requirements.
  13. Ensure all Codes of Practice are adhered to.
  14. Look for ways to improve Engineering processes and facilities.
  15. Support the identification and solutions to projects that will enhance the Business or Products.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. An engineering qualification (e.g. Level 3 BTEC or City and Guilds diploma) with considerable experience in operational engineering.
  2. An electrical specific qualification (e.g. 18th Edition Electrical Regs).
  3. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  4. Proven hands-on experience and knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
  5. Excellent attention to detail.
  6. Electrical fault-finding skills.
  7. Strong manual dexterity.
  8. Good time management and organisational skills.
  9. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  10. Excellent communication skills.
  11. Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  12. Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
  13. Must be honest, hardworking, enthusiastic, and reliable.
