Midwife Role at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

The Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated midwife to join our team in the Antenatal Department. As a Lead Midwife, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality midwifery care to pregnant women and supporting the team in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert midwifery care to antenatal women, including routine check-ups, prenatal education, and support during pregnancy and childbirth.
- Supervise and mentor junior midwives, maternity support workers, and students to ensure they receive the necessary training and guidance to provide high-quality care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Proven experience in antenatal midwifery, with a strong understanding of midwifery care and practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
