Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled School Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing high-quality meals to our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school kitchen, preparing and serving meals, and maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals to students, adhering to KCC School Food Standards and Health and Safety guidelines.
- Manage stock levels, control waste, and ensure best value for money in catering orders.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to Food Safety Legislation and documentation.
- Assist with special functions, such as inset days and after-school meetings.
- Complete cleaning duties and ensure schedules and documentation are up-to-date.
- Keep expenditure within authorized budget limits and ensure Food Safety qualification is up-to-date.
- Actively assist in maintaining a five-star food hygiene rating and provide a safe and hygienic work environment.
Requirements
- Experience in cooking for large groups (35-60 people).
- Catering experience and a recognized catering qualification (e.g. City and Guilds / NVQ).
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
