Role Overview

Due to ongoing growth and new project acquisitions, the organization is seeking several Project Managers with expertise in NEC contracts. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the utilities sector, particularly in water, although those with backgrounds in other infrastructure areas such as rail or highways will also be considered.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of assigned projects within specified time, quality, and budget constraints. This role involves coordinating technical resources to meet project objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing risks and issues effectively.
  • Overseeing contract management tasks in line with established frameworks from contract initiation to invoicing with the finance team.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) for assigned projects, including conducting project audits, governance, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Managing significant client projects, coordinating technical resources, and defining project scope requirements.
  • Creating internal schedules for project execution and reporting progress to clients and internally for assigned projects.
  • Utilizing matrix management for seconded resources when applicable.
  • Providing mentorship and support to Assistant Project Managers and Technical Directors to facilitate project delivery.

Candidate Profile

Experience in the water industry or broader utilities sector is preferred, along with a project management qualification such as APMP/AMP PMQ or PRINCE2 or an equivalent. NEC3/4 accreditation is advantageous.

Applicants should possess substantial project management experience, in-depth knowledge of NEC contracts, and strong organizational, communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is essential, and familiarity with other specialized software (e.g., SAP, CRM systems) will be beneficial.
