About the Role: DMW Recruitment is seeking skilled and practical Control Systems & Software Engineers to enhance our client's growing marine and offshore renewables systems engineering division.

Company Overview: Our client specializes in automation and electrical power solutions tailored for the marine, renewables, and offshore sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from initial concept through to implementation, ensuring designs are executed effectively.
  • Develop specifications, designs, and calculations from the ground up, including PLC and SCADA software for managing power generation and distribution systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including design basis, detailed functional design specifications, and testing procedures.

Design and Commissioning:

  • Create innovative design concepts and translate them into detailed designs, covering full lifecycle software development, I/O lists, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices, and FMECA.
  • Oversee startup, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and, when necessary, site commissioning and integration.
  • Compile final project closeout documentation, including updated drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists.

Travel Requirements: Given the international scope of our projects, occasional travel may be required to support commissioning and after-sales service activities.

Technical Proficiency: Candidates should possess advanced skills in Siemens TIA Portal and other platforms such as B&R Automation Studio, along with substantial experience in variable speed drives, switchgear, and instrumentation systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to transform designs into practical applications, with familiarity in producing specifications and reports for PLC/SCADA, power generation, and variable speed drive systems.
  • Electrical design experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A degree in Marine, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or a related electrical discipline is required.
