Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Contracts and Projects Officer to join our Operations team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of projects, supporting contract management, and assisting with the planning and management of inspection programs and maintenance of operational sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and effective delivery of projects, including capital and annual plan projects.
  • Support contract management, including contract renewals and maintenance of the Operations Contracts Register.
  • Assist with the planning and management of inspection programs and maintenance of operational sites.
  • Manage project finances, including the raising of purchase orders and invoices, and updating financial trackers and budget sheets.
  • Maintain and update the Operations Contracts Register, and support the management of applications for Traffic Regulation Orders and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in contract management and project coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and outside all year round.
  • Full clean driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
