Job Summary

DigiKape Resourcing is a leading recruitment agency specializing in filling ad hoc shifts and providing temporary and permanent placements in the social care industry for both public and private sectors.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Court of Protection Officer to join our team. As a Court Appointed Deputy, you will be responsible for managing the finances and property of vulnerable adults for whom Liverpool City Council is the Court Appointed Deputy of Appointee.

Main Responsibilities

  • To safeguard the property and financial affairs of vulnerable adults who are subject to the Court of Protection.
  • To act under the delegated Court Appointed Deputy to enforce the Court Order on behalf of the Court, LCC, and the client.
  • To adhere to the Directions of the Court Order and meet the Local Authority Deputy Standards set by the Office of the Public Guardian and act in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • To liaise with the Court, Social Workers, and other LCC staff, HMRC, DWP, and other government bodies and financial institutions on behalf of and in the best interest of the client.
  • To ensure COP representation at appropriate meetings in relation to an individual client and their family members.
  • To advise and explain to Social Workers and family members the procedures relating to deceased Clients subject to Court of Protection regarding the funeral and estate.
  • To report to Office of the Public Guardian Visiting Officers on open/active cases and provide guidance and training to appropriate staff.
  • To carry out any other tasks reasonably required of the post holder.
  • To open Deputy bank accounts on behalf of the client and consolidate personal assets and identify and secure assets, savings, and investments.
