Tactran, the statutory Regional Transport Partnership at the core of Scotland's transport framework, is responsible for formulating and executing a comprehensive Regional Transport Strategy while ensuring its effective delivery. This Partnership also plays a crucial role in Community Planning and Development Planning, contributing significantly to the development and execution of City Deals.
With the recent endorsement of the third Tayside and Central Scotland Regional Transport Strategy, our primary focus is to collaborate with partners to realize the aspirations outlined in the strategy.
We are in search of a skilled and driven professional to take on a pivotal role in the development and execution of our Regional Transport Strategy, as well as in supporting Community Planning, Development Planning, and regional economic initiatives, including pertinent City Deals.
Position: Strategy Officer (£39,000 - £45,000)
Reporting directly to the Senior Strategy Officer, you will be tasked with aiding in the development, implementation, and assessment of the Regional Transport Strategy and associated delivery programs. Your focus will be on enhancing Strategic Connectivity, Bus, Rail, Mobility Hubs, Freight, and Low Carbon Vehicle components of the Strategy. This role will require you to support and engage with key stakeholders and partners, as well as assist in the evaluation, procurement, and execution of proposals and projects.
Ideally, you will possess a degree in transportation or a related field, along with familiarity with transport and broader policy matters within a Regional Transport Partnership or local authority context. Knowledge and/or experience in transportation appraisal and modeling techniques, as well as an understanding of transport legislation and operational practices, will be advantageous.
The Tactran office operates on a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility in your work environment.
