Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship

As a Police Officer with Sussex Police, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in your community. Our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Programme is a unique opportunity to combine on-the-job training with a degree in Professional Policing Practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a Police Officer, responding to emergency calls and engaging with the public
  • Study towards a degree in Professional Policing Practice, gaining a deep understanding of policing principles and practices
  • Develop your skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and mentorship
Requirements
  • Aged 17 years or over on the day of application, and 18 years or over to start in post
  • Lived in the UK for 3 continuous years immediately prior to application
  • Leave to enter or remain in the UK for an indefinite period
  • Current full UK manual driving licence
  • Not a member of the British National Party or any other proscribed terrorist organisations or groups
  • Not have tattoos that cause offence
  • Not have serious motoring offences
  • Not have 6 or more points on your licence
  • Meet the qualification criteria outlined below
Qualification Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent Level 2 qualification
  • A Level grade A*-C or equivalent Level 3 qualification, and one A level grade A*-E or AS level in a different subject, or equivalent Level 3 qualification
  • Minimum of 48 UCAS points when both qualifications are combined
