About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solicitor to join our in-house Legal Services Team at Southern Housing Group. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation on litigation-related matters, particularly in housing management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of litigation cases, providing advice and assistance on various housing management matters, including disrepair, injunctions, possession, and leasehold disputes.
- Comply with established processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective provision of litigation and housing management disputes to Southern Housing Group.
- Liaise with colleagues at all levels across the organization and resident's legal advisers.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, resident's solicitors, partners, and third parties.
- Ensure confidentiality, sensitivity, and a professional approach in all activities.
- Provide cover for other members of the Litigation team in their absence and guidance/support to more junior team members.
Requirements
- Qualified CILEX Lawyer, Solicitor, or Barrister with a practicing certificate.
- Previous litigation and housing management experience, particularly in social housing or public sector bodies.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite and Outlook, and ability to work within a case management system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in a variety of forms.
