Warehouse Material Operator

Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution is seeking a dedicated Material Handler. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
The Material Handler is responsible for executing daily operations within the distribution yard of the facility. This includes various distribution-related tasks such as receiving, storing, and preparing shipments. Proficiency in operating forklifts is essential. It is crucial to verify that loads correspond with orders before vehicles depart from the yard. Additionally, the role involves engaging in customer service activities. Material Handlers should possess extensive knowledge of building materials and warehouse processes. They must demonstrate alertness and adaptability to the routines of the warehouse environment. A solid understanding of basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) is required. Maintaining cleanliness in the work area is also a priority. Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulations is expected. Material Handlers are expected to show a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental consciousness, and ongoing process enhancement. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: A high school diploma, GED, or two years of relevant work experience is required. Candidates must be able to comprehend and communicate safety and work-related instructions effectively. The working environment involves considerable physical activity within a warehouse setting and requires the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with building materials and engineered wood products is advantageous. The ability to measure and understand lengths of materials is preferred. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, is also beneficial.
