Head of Finance Business Partnering

Robertson Bell is partnering with a leading public sector organisation to find a highly skilled Head of Finance Business Partnering. This role will play a critical part in delivering a world-class financial and business partnering service that drives the organisation's strategy and monitors progress against key performance indicators.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for managing a team of finance professionals. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the business to deliver the organisation's strategy and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement;
  • Developing and delivering robust budgets and financial plans that align with the organisation's overall strategy;
  • Providing proactive and robust financial leadership to the business, including partner relationships, operational plans, business cases, financial assumptions and financial modelling;
  • Leading the collation of short to medium term investment plans and interpreting key drivers and risks to enable the preparation of long term business plans;
  • Ensuring timely, accurate and appropriate management information is reported to stakeholders, including any deviations from budget or plans;
  • Inspiring and coaching a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results.

The organisation is a leading housing association with a strong track record of growth and success. The role will require occasional travel to the organisation's offices in Tewkesbury, Chipping Sodbury or Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will benefit from a competitive salary, bonus and car allowance.

Essential criteria for the role include:

  • Experience of reporting financial information and explaining finance concepts to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Previous or current experience working in the property or housing sector;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of getting the best out of people;
  • Recent practical experience of budgeting, management accounting and business planning;
  • Good systems experience, including finance systems and operational systems;
  • Qualified member of a recognised accounting body;
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, taxation, risk and financial reporting standards.
