Job Title: Head of Technical Delivery

Location: Bolton, reporting to IT Director

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Technical Delivery to lead our technical team based in Bolton. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of 14, with three direct reports, some of whom are based offshore in Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical team in all change building capacity and excellence in agile and lean practice
  • Recruit and onboard the right people into the right teams
  • Define software architecture and provide oversight to delivery teams
  • Work closely with the head of portfolio to ensure delivery is focused on business value
  • Line management, coaching, and development of developers and analysts
  • Ensure standards and practices are in place
  • Define technical strategy and align all changes with it
  • Translate business plans into technology systems and procedures
  • Manage IT capital and operating budget within technical delivery function
  • Define and monitor departmental standards, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Design all portals, service now instigations, and core systems

Requirements:

  • Strong technical acumen and leadership skills
  • Experience in architecture governance and quality delivery
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of mentoring and coaching team members
  • Familiarity with IT budget management
  • Experience in defining and monitoring departmental standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with product owners and other stakeholders
