The Gordon Murray Group is a prestigious UK-based luxury automotive manufacturer renowned for its commitment to excellence in engineering and design. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Safety and Security Domain Engineer. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integration of advanced safety and security systems into our exceptional vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and validate safety systems such as autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control, and airbag control systems, ensuring seamless integration within the vehicle's electrical architecture.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive requirements specifications, project timelines, and validation criteria throughout the development process.
- Provide expert guidance to Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) and Packaging teams to ensure optimal placement and installation of control units and peripherals.
- Ensure compliance with functional safety standards, legislative requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Lead system reviews and validation activities, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and test planning.
- Represent the Electrical Department in engineering reviews and status meetings, and participate in external working groups focused on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Identify and resolve faults, managing issues to resolution and acting as a key authority for concessions.
- Coordinate with suppliers and support Procurement, Logistics, and Quality teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Offer training and support to Manufacturing and Service departments to enhance operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and engineering of safety and security systems within the automotive sector.
- Familiarity with relevant ADAS standards, ISO 26262, and Euro NCAP is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of electrical architectures and diagnostic technologies.
- Proficient in CAN, FlexRay, automotive Ethernet, and LIN networks.
- Experience with system/component delivery within frameworks such as APQP or Six Sigma, including full product lifecycle management.
- Self-motivated, articulate, and capable of working independently.
- A degree in Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is essential; equivalent qualifications with significant experience will also be considered.
- A valid driving license is required.
- No restrictions on working in the UK or traveling within the European Union.
