Job Title: Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience supporting students with special educational needs in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social/emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff to develop and implement tailored strategies that support each student's unique learning needs.
  • Assist students in managing behavior, developing social skills, and improving emotional well-being.
  • Support classroom activities, ensuring resources are adapted to individual student requirements.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents, contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages all students to thrive.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Psychology (or working towards one) is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or therapeutic setting is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to promoting student welfare.
