Position Overview:
Thales is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineering Manager to spearhead the evolution of our premier, high-assurance product capabilities at our Crawley facility. This role involves leading a diverse and expanding team, with a focus on nurturing talent and driving productivity to meet stringent revenue timelines while ensuring stakeholder confidence in deliverables.
Your leadership will encompass a varied portfolio of secure products, ensuring they are designed to thrive in a highly competitive information landscape. You will be responsible for guaranteeing that the components and overall portfolio deliver exceptional value, establishing them as the preferred solutions for Thales and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the Security Management Plan, ensuring compliance with the Development and Manufacturing Security Plan.
- Uphold necessary operational standards, including support for external audits.
- Maintain a highly skilled engineering team and secure environment to deliver products within a regulated context, addressing Tier 1 cyber threats.
- Structure the team for growth, anticipating how it will support current revenue and profit opportunities.
- Instill confidence in stakeholders regarding performance metrics related to cost, time, and security.
- Ensure external stakeholders are assured of the timely availability and quality of essential deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
- Facilitate peer reviews and prepare materials for significant project gate reviews.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A self-driven engineering professional with 5-7 years of experience in launching products in highly regulated markets.
- Experience managing teams utilizing tools such as Visual Studio, IBM DOORS, IBM Rhapsody, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, C++, C, and static analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.
- Knowledge of CHERI, Tier 1 cyber threats, and protective measures for intellectual property.
