Role Overview
As a vital member of the Trade Finance Operations team, you will oversee and manage the daily processing of trade finance transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and departmental procedures. This position requires an experienced professional who can take on additional responsibilities for the smooth operation of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on and amending Letters of Credit (L/C)
- Conducting document examinations
- Processing reimbursement claims and payments
- Addressing internal and external inquiries
- Managing guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs)
- Reviewing drafts of L/Cs and guarantees
- Assessing and processing risk participation and facility documentation
- Facilitating trade loans, refinancing, and discounting
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of forfaiting
- Identifying operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Providing timely and efficient responses to queries from both internal and external stakeholders
- Taking a proactive approach to enhance team workflows, ensuring thorough audit trails and precise record-keeping
- Maintaining up-to-date Management Information (MI) and ensuring regular report updates
- Possessing a strong understanding of trade-based money laundering and recognizing potential red flags in trade transactions.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate or postgraduate degree; CDCS/CSDG certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in Trade Finance Operations.
- In-depth knowledge of trade finance and familiarity with relevant ICC regulations:
- UCP600 - Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits
- URDG 758 - Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees
- URR 725 - Bank-to-Bank Reimbursements under Documentary Credits
- ISBP 745 - International Standard Banking Practice
- ISP98 - International Standby Practices
- URF 800 - Uniform Rules for Forfaiting
- Ability to confidently fulfill key responsibilities to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- A strong self-starter who collaborates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
