Job Description

This is a 12-month fixed contract role.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Reporting
  • Prepare reports to comply with environmental legislation across the UK and Ireland, including Packaging & Waste Reporting (2007, 2024), Plastic Packaging Tax, and reporting for Repak in Ireland.
  • Validate sustainability data, reconciling multiple data sources.
  • Monitor sustainability-related legislation and redefine sustainability reporting requirements based on changes in legislation or guidance from external agencies.
  • Continuously improve processes associated with environmental reporting.
  • Manage the purchasing process for Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs), ensuring compliance with recycling obligations.
Customer-Focused Sustainability Reporting
  • Coordinate preparation of sustainability reports as requested by customers, including packaging data and carbon footprint analysis.
External Agency and Scheme Management
  • Liaise with and manage relationships with external agencies, including scheme operators like Clarity Environmental.
Internal Communication and Compliance Updates
  • Report on compliance status and share internal results with the compliance steering committee.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection, manipulation, and visualization tools (Excel, PowerBI).
  • Ability to interpret sustainability-related legislation.
  • Previous experience in sustainability and/or data analysis and reporting.
  • Good communication skills, ability to establish and maintain relationships, and promote collaboration.
  • Presentation skills.
  • System savvy; experience with SAP R3P/BW is beneficial.
