About the Role

We are working with a leading main contractor in the Highways Division, seeking an experienced Site Agent or Sub Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the civils sector, with experience working with NEC forms of contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in the execution of their duties and management of smaller construction contracts.
  • Manage site staff operatives and sub-contractors, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Develop and implement method statements, hazard risk assessments, and project management plans to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
  • Monitor contract costs against agreed budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare and monitor programmes of work, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Assess and engage sub-contractors, ensuring that they meet the required standards and quality.
  • Manage design co-ordination, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion, while maintaining a strong reputation with clients.
  • Foster good relations and reputation with clients, stakeholders, and local groups.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Sub Agent or Site Agent for a main contractor.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to instruct and direct staff.
  • Experience in the civils sector working with NEC forms of contract.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Temporary Works experience.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • First Aid certification (desirable).
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
