Are you interested in playing a vital role in supporting healthcare services? The Sterile Services department plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various medical facilities, including surgical theatres and endoscopy units. This position, while not directly interacting with patients, is centered around patient care and focuses on maintaining high standards of service.
The team is tasked with the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instrument packs to both internal and external clients. The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to fluctuating workloads. A comfort with clinical settings, including exposure to blood, is essential.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the reprocessing operations and oversee production staff on a shift basis.
- Contribute to the management of a busy Sterile Services and Endoscopy Unit, leading a team to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide leadership by setting a personal example, enhancing departmental communication, and fostering positive relationships.
Working Schedule:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week:
Monday-Wednesday: 13:00-21:00
Thursday: 7:00-15:00
Friday: 12:00-20:00
Compensation: An annual salary ranging from £22,816.00 to £24,336.00, with additional shift allowances for overtime or unsociable hours.
Key Duties:
- Oversee the preparation of instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise the washing, assembly, and packing of surgical instruments and endoscopes to meet specifications.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in Sterile Services practices.
- Safely operate and monitor sterilization equipment.
- Ensure accurate tracking of instruments and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Support team members in performance management and development.
- Participate in on-call management to ensure emergency services are available.
