Amazon Operations Manager

About the Role
As an Area Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the efficient and safe operation of our Fulfillment Centers. You will be the driving force behind process improvements, quality control, and productivity initiatives that meet customer demands. Your expertise in people management, data analysis, and business decision-making will be crucial in driving operational excellence and streamlining processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Foster a culture of safety, wellbeing, and quality within your team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles.
- Drive Process Improvements: Analyze and implement changes to maintain high-quality and productivity levels, identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions to address them.
- Oversee Projects and Initiatives: Lead projects to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
- Monitor and Improve Shift Performance: Analyze shift performance against business objectives, implementing actions to enhance operational excellence and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Management: Work closely with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices, ensuring consistency and best practices across the organization.
A Day in the Life
You will work on a shift pattern at one of our Fulfillment Centers, focusing on owning and driving a culture of safety, quality, and shift performance standards. Your day will be varied, encompassing routine team management, daily operational responsibilities, process improvement, and operational contingency tasks. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support their growth and development.

Customer Fulfillment is the backbone of Amazon's operations, handling over 1.5 million orders daily. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field, such as business, operations, or logistics.
- People Management Experience: Proven experience in leading teams, managing people, and developing their skills.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Advanced Proficiency in English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen Experience: Experience working with these methodologies to drive process improvements and quality control.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Experience: Background in logistics, supply chain management, and transportation concepts, including forecasting, planning, optimization, and inventory management.
- MS Office Suite Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, in a professional environment.
