Job Purpose

To provide electronic engineering expertise to support the manufacturing and test departments, and collaborate with the Design Engineering team to implement new products, develop Test Specifications, and create Test Reports. This role is expected to last 6 to 12 months to support an ongoing project, with regular reviews throughout the term.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the development of electronic systems for railway applications.
  2. Produce and review technical documentation, including specifications, design information, test plans, and technical reports.
  3. Collaborate with the Test, Production, and Quality departments throughout the product lifecycle.
  4. Investigate electronic system failures, determine root causes, and present findings.
  5. Specify test equipment and develop test specifications for electrical and electronic systems.
  6. Perform other duties within capabilities, training, or experience.
  7. Support external compliance testing in the UK.
  8. Assist with production installation abroad if required.
Quality, Health & Safety
  1. Comply with company and statutory policies and procedures for Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental matters.
  2. Ensure timely investigations and reports on failed or defective components.
Customer Focus
  1. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers to maintain the company's reputation as a world-class supplier of railway vehicle services.
