We are seeking dedicated volunteers for our Independent Visitors Initiative.

Role Overview

Independent Visitors serve as supportive friends, dedicating time to a child or young individual in Local Authority care. Our volunteers relish the opportunity to foster meaningful relationships, providing the children with a dependable and enjoyable connection outside the care environment.

This role requires a long-term, one-on-one commitment. Comprehensive training and continuous support will be provided, along with reimbursement for travel and activity-related expenses.

Coram Voice

Coram Voice is the foremost specialist in advocacy and children's rights services for those in or on the verge of care. We advocate for some of society's most vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and reaching out to those who have been overlooked.

Founded in 1975 and integrated into the Coram group in 2013, Coram Voice strives to promote best practices in supporting children and young people. Our vision is that every child has the best possible chance in life.

Our team consists of approximately 60 employed staff, 100 self-employed advocates, and independent persons, along with 70 volunteers who provide services nationwide. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise in advocacy, children's rights, mental health, and experience working with children in various circumstances.

Each day, we positively impact the lives of children and young people in and on the edge of care across the UK. Our advocacy teams, composed of experienced community advocates and specialists, work diligently to support young individuals facing challenges.
