Position Overview

Role: Business Studies Educator, Sgoil Lionacleit
Work Hours: 35 hours per week, maternity cover
Salary: £41, - £51, per annum, inclusive of £2, Distant Islands Allowance per annum

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the overall effectiveness of the educational institution in the following key areas:

(a) Curriculum Development

(b) Student Care and Welfare

(c) Collaborative Engagement

(d) Professional Growth

In accordance with the policies set forth by the educational institution and the governing authority, the responsibilities of the educator include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Delivering instruction to designated classes along with necessary preparation and assessment.
  2. Contributing to the advancement of the school curriculum.
  3. Evaluating, documenting, and reporting on student progress.
  4. Preparing students for assessments and assisting with examination administration.
  5. Providing guidance and support to students regarding their educational journey.
  6. Ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of students.
  7. Collaborating with parents, support staff, and other professionals.
  8. Engaging in ongoing professional development as agreed upon.
  9. Participating in school planning, achievement enhancement, and individual assessments.
  10. Contributing to maintaining order and addressing the broader needs of the school.

The ideal candidate must possess a relevant degree or diploma and be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
