Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's Swindon team, working on Thames Water contracts. As a key member of the project team, you will provide commercial support, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
  • Ensure accurate cash flow reporting and carry out cost management, including forecasting.
  • Update monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and be accountable for commercial performance and strategy.
  • Help ensure commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit.
  • Actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
  • Develop and improve JV/Alliance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure main contracts have appropriate terms and conditions, with commercial risks identified.
  • Engage the supply chain with correct contract terms and conditions.
  • Foster good client relationships.
  • Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
  • Effectively manage the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff.
  • Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and operational site teams.
  • Supervise and mentor quantity surveyors.
Requirements:
  • HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the civil engineering industry.
  • Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract, NEC3 or NEC4, and knowledge of current Construction Law.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
  • Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
  • Excellent team player with ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to encourage and support junior members of the Commercial Team.
  • Experience working for Contractors, Water experience, and ability to deal with large amounts of data for open book forms of contract.
  • Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards.
  • CSCS card.
