About the Role

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Swindon/Reading. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors/Assistant Quantity Surveyors, working closely with operational teams, and administering the Principal Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effective procurement and management of subcontractors, including agreement of terms and conditions, risk attribution, and scope.
  • Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors/Assistant Quantity Surveyors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Administering the Principal Contract, including managing change through the Early Warning and Variation Process with both the Client and subcontractors.
  • Value and margin maximisation through effective cost management and negotiation.
  • Producing or supporting the production of CVRs, applications for payment, and costs forecasts.
  • Closely monitoring staff, material, plant, and other resources on site to ensure that projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification.
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar level within a civil engineering or utilities contractor.
  • Commercial astuteness and ability to negotiate effectively.
