About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized IT Asset Management Specialist to join our team at AJ Bell. As an IT Asset Management Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of our hardware and software assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to retirement or disposal.
  • Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and optimize license usage to minimize costs.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of asset inventories and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze asset usage patterns and identify opportunities to optimize resources and reduce costs without compromising performance.
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Manager to evaluate current processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement effective asset management practices.
  • Work closely with cost centre owners to forecast budget requirements, based on expenditure and potential future costs.
  • Support the IT Service Manager with supplier management activities, such as attending supplier service meetings, preparing supplier scorecards, and monthly supplier MI.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and teamwork with other departments to effectively achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Capable of challenging appropriately and proposing solutions to problems.
  • Collaborative team player with a personable approach.
  • Previous experience in an IT Asset management coordinator, specialist, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of hardware asset lifecycle from request to disposal.
  • Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions, purchase orders, and service agreements.
  • Knowledge of software management practices, ensuring optimal use and compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Experience of using hardware and software asset management tools or systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) - desirable.
  • ITIL V3/4 certification - desirable.
